I don’t think so, not if they’re made of particle board. According to Wikipedia, these are the places you’re most likely to find asbestos:
joint compound
mud and texture coats
vinyl floor tiles, sheeting, adhesives
roofing tars, felts, siding, and shingles
“transite” panels, siding, countertops, and pipes
fireproofing
caulk
gaskets
brake pads and shoes
clutch plates
stage curtains
fire blankets
interior fire doors
fireproof clothing for firefighters
thermal pipe insulation
Unless the school desks were specially made to be fire resistant, probably not.
Not to my knowledge…
Ive replied to your email with the photo, what you have there is hardboard…its all wood fibers, no asbestos.

YES.
Asbestos was used in modular plastic school desk/chair combination and stand alone stools. The concentration of asbestos was 1-10% Chrysotile but the material is extremely hard and, unless you are demolishing these items or performing maintenance activities, they will not post a risk of exposure to airborne asbestos fibres. The tops were typically pressboard or plywood.
